Language: Language is the way in which a piece of media communicates to the audience. These are different types of language in media, for example, written; verbal; non-verbal; visual; and aural.

Institution: the institution of a media product would be something that the audience can recognise such as the brand, company or the product its self. This helps the audience to become familiar with the product or company.

Ideology: the ideology of media is the idea of something for example maybe a genre of a film or the target audience of a product.

Audience: the audience of media are the people that you are trying to impress by your product or the people that you are trying to sell something too. 

Representation: the representation of media is how something is presented to the audience.
